ABOUT THE EVENT:

When you know something is a long term or life-long condition, you can feel trapped and alone. From personal experience with my own auto-immune disease, I understand how difficult it can be to come to terms with and manage an LTC such as MS, COPD or chronic pain and fatigue conditions. How do you come to terms with something when most platitudes are “It’ll get better” when you know it won’t go away?

A better quote for those with LTCs is “You can’t stop the waves, but you can learn to surf” Kabat-Zinn 2004

There IS hope, and not in the form of miracle cures. You can still live a fulfilling life with a long-term condition. For this reason, we are going to be running an 8 week online ACT Therapy course with Elsa Fidalgo and Chris Joss Hutchins, both expert therapists that specialise in exactly that. ACT therapy focuses on acceptance and management of your condition, establishing your personal priorities and how to live a fulfilling, rich life around the limitations of your condition. The online group sessions will also connect you to other people who really understand what you are going through, from the comfort of your own home.

The first course is open for registration starting in early March. If you or someone you know want to connect to people that understand, and really take back control and agency of your life despite a long term condition, register your interest.

After 4 visits to the Physio department at the hospital, I was signed off but there was no improvement. My GP said it was something I would have to live with for the rest of my life which is when I looked for an alternative treatment.

After 3 visits to Elrina the swelling was considerably better and over time my calf muscle and knee movement has returned to normal. I cannot thank her enough and would recommend her to anyone.
